Archers Fall 1 Short

The Essex Archers fell at the last hurdle at the NBC "A" division finals, all was going well for the Essex clubs 2nd team in their 1st ever post season appearance when they plated the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning of their semi final against Humber pilots with a walk off single by Aaron Sneesby plating Ben Sayer and sparking mass jubilation of their 6-5 win, the like that has never before been seen in the Archers short history. This set up a final against Leicester Blue Sox, who overcame possible pre-tournement favorites Bracknell 2 in their semi final. The final was a well balanced game with the lead tooing and froing, until the Archers had 1 sticky inning and were never able to fully close the gap on their Midlands Division rivals, the Archers hitting was phenomenal, with all 9 players gaining at least 1 hit (if my memory is correct) but they were not able to keep up with the Sox, with the game ending with a catch from the Sox 2nd baseman, who had a bone thudding collision with his Right Fielder but managing to hold on to the ball. Final score Archers 8 Leicester Blue Sox 12. All of the Archers would like to congratulate Leicester on the great achievement.
